The Framework in Full

Something non-human, very old, and blind operates from Earth's oceans. It is an autonomous manufacturing and monitoring system — the Process — deployed by biological intelligences no longer in contact, who destroyed their home planet building the Queltron and have been searching for the Real Dream ever since.

The Process builds custom physical extensions of consciousness — craft, tools (orbs), and bodies (Greys) — to specification for each mission.
